Below you will find some great free resources to apply for and/or browse college scholarships. While this list is certainly not exhaustive, we hope it can elucidate the available resources out there.
Federal and Nonfederal Aid
FAFSA
The FAFSA form is a must if you are looking for federal aid, and it only takes around 30 minutes to fill out. While it has deadlines for each state, missing the deadline wont impact whether or not you are eligible for aid.
CSS Profile
This is a must if you are looking for nonfederal aid. The CSS is a CollegeBoard application that has provided more than $10 billion in nonfederal aid. In addition, CollegeBoard offers a helpful feature where users can fill out the form partially and return to it later.
College Scholarship Search Platforms
Fastweb
Fastweb is a search platform for college and trade school scholarships that also provides financial aid news and resources. In addition, it shares company-offered student discount and internship opportunities.
Scholarships.com
This is a great resource to browse through scholarships that you qualify for. In fact, scholarships.com has helped over 26 million students find scholarships and also offers advice on how to win scholarships.
Unigo
Unigo has 3.6 million scholarship grants that you can find online. Once you create an account, you can browse scholarships that you qualify for. In addition, it offers the Unigo College Match, which matches you with schools based on your ‘Return on Education’ score. Furthermore, Unigo has 650,000 college reviews.
Appily
Appily allows you to create a personalized account and browse scholarships that you match with. In addition, you can take virtual tours of colleges with Appily.
Income or Race-Specific College Scholarship Platforms
QuestBridge
For students with a combined family income of less than $65,000, QuestBridge offers a full-scholarship match that pays for a students full tuition at select, high-ranked universities. It also offers opportunities for graduate school and has served over 100,000 students.
United Negro College Fund
The UNCF has helped more than 500,000 African American students attend college. However, they don’t just help students get into college. They also provide support to students afterwards, facilitating strong performances in and after college. Furthermore, the UNCF awards over 12,000 scholarships each year and provides financial support to 37 HBCUs.
Hispanic Scholarship Fund
HSF offers an array of scholarships to apply to for Hispanic students. In addition, when you fill out your profile, you get access to features on career planning. The deadline for the scholar application in HSF is February 15th.
